"Smile with your eyes," as coined by supermodel Tyra Banks on the thirteenth cycle of America's Next Top Model. Ever since its introduction, the term became part of the daily lexicon of Tyra and her minions. The art of smizing is epitomized by the legendary Super Smize.

We can't all be Tyra, I am sorry to report. Instead of making your resolution to be Tyra or Heidi or Kara (Goucher, ultra-runner, don't ask), choose simpler and more specific goals.
i.e. "Run 15 miles a week" (fyi it is totally doable and I'd encourage you to step it up to 20 mpw), but NOT "Run more"
OR
i.e. "To not eat any refined sugar fora week" NOT "Eat less refined sugar"
Stating your goals loud and clear and writing them down and making them reasonable will help you be a more effective you. If you have trouble sticking to resolutions, rewarding yourself when you meet a goal could be beneficial. If you aren't motivated to stay on top of your running goals, sign up for a race, get a running buddy, or stash away a dollar for every mile or five miles that you run. After you have met your goal, use your stash of cash (rhyme masta in da house!) and buy something you like or do something fun with your running buddy or break a time goal. Güd luck!
